This is insane, a steal for $1599. I bought it 10 days ago for $2149, will be requesting a price adj.

The unit itself is good, takes up less space than my 17 year old Samsung washer & gas dryer. Each load will take 4-5 hrs usually to complete but you can program it to run overnight to avoid the wait. Smartthings app will tell you when your wash is complete.

Nice.

I'm not sure I've ever purchased a Best Buy/Geek Squad extended warranty on anything before, but I'd definitely purchase one on this item.

Am I understanding this correctly that their warranty is NOT tacked on AFTER the mfr warranty period but runs concurrently?

Does Geek Squad extended warranty start after manufacturer warranty?
When does my Geek Squad Protection coverage start? Coverage under your Plan begins on the start date, which is date the Plan is purchased or the date you receive the product, whichever is later. There is no waiting period.

Looks like you have to purchase warranty within 60 days of purchase.

So, by purchasing a 5 year warranty ($250), you're only really getting 4 years extra after the mfr.

The Costco 3 year ($120) warranty runs AFTER the mfr and the additional extra 1 year Costco. So, 1+1+3=5.

Guess one could debate the Geek Squad warranty language vs the Costco/Allstate specifics.

Anyone know if these work with only a cold water hook up? And subject to hot(100 degrees) and cold (down to 30 in winter) environment as it would sit in screened in porch?

Almost ready to pull the trigger here. I have a lot of polyester/synthetic clothing that I normally wash cold and line dry. Does the wash/dry cycle on this machine support synthetic material?

I couldn't tell you, I refuse to purchase extended warranties on anything ever.

Amazing deal. Bought it in April from Costco for 1850. Amazing machine. If you load it to the brim, it will take 5-6 hours to wash and dry. Clothes only come out damp in these situations - otherwise excellent. The lint filter (and insert) is annoying to clean, but 100% worth it for not needing to put detergent and softener in every load. Considering buying a second unit now to replace the dryer…

We got ours from Costco in April and we absolutely love ours. Time will tell on the tech and longevity but these units are a game changer. If they prove to be reliable, they are going to take over. Practically no one will use two separate units if they can afford one of these combo heat pumps. Whatever they did to make the heat pump dryer part of it work so well now is amazing.

There's an "active wear" cycle, and a "less microfiber" cycle specifically to "reduce the amount of microfibers generated during washing synthetic clothes." I stick to cotton clothing so I can't speak from personal experience how well that works. I vaguely recall that some YouTube review mentioned that synthetic fabrics trip up the sensor dry leading to somewhat damp clothes.

This may also qualifies for the Energy Star rebate(s).

https://www.energystar.gov/produc...us/3387758 [energystar.gov]
Can someone elaborate on this potential rebate? Should I be asking my local energy company? When I entered my zip code on that page, it mentioned something about heat pumps federally and from my energy company, but not sure if it applies to the washer/dryer.

Is this purchase tax deductible or something?

I just ordered one and am going to be hooking it up to cold water only as a temporary solution in a remodel. If it doesn't work, I'll just add a point of use water heater. This should operate fine at high ambient temps, it pulls heat from the environment to dry the clothes. Not sure what the lowest temperature it can operate at is, I suspect 30 might be too low.

4-5 hours per load? What? Why so long?

I get that it washes and dries, but that's insane.
