FYI, the S8U book cover keyboard does work with the S9U. The back cover does not though. I did make the camera cutout bigger using a knife and Dremel tool, but the flap that covers the S Pen won't close all the way (maybe the S9U doesn't have magnets on the top rear?). So, I tossed the back cover and got the Spigen Thin Fit Pro case for $50 on Amazon. The case has a kickstand and although it does not have a cover for the S Pen, it does have a holder which keeps the pen from falling out. The kickstand is much stiffer than the Samsung case, but the Spigen provides much more protection and has an opening to allow the S8U keyboard to dock with the S9U. So, for those who are on the fence about trading in their S8U for the S9U because of not wanting to spend $350 for a new/compatible book cover keyboard, I highly recommend keeping the S8U keyboard and spending just $50 for the Spigen case. You'll get better protection for the tablet and pretty much all the same functionality for a lot cheaper.

$199.99 w/ s8+ trade-in, though as always the (+$95) tax where I live kinda makes me on the fence on this.

For anyone not even seeing s8 ultra as a possible trade-in, select the 1 TB S9 ultra first. Your discount may be causing the prices to be too low and not show.

Not the method I did since I don't have an S8. If you also don't have any S8, Amazon has them for 350 renewed. But using the method in this post, you can get the S8 to show up as $800 trade in, making the 256 GB model $200, total price $550. Cheapest way to get an S9 ultra starting from nothing.

Thank you. Just placed an order exactly like the above. Anyone else?

Now I wonder where I can get S8 cheaper than Amazon.

Uhh mine keeps changing to $150 despite showing as $120 on the product page. Anyone finding a trick to actually checking out at $120?
Got it to show and checkout with $120 by using Chrome Incognito.

Probably nowhere, I was looking up for quite a while before this thread was posted and Amazon had the best price. Something like Offer Up was more expensive.

Samsung is having trouble this year. Saw so many s23* trade-in deals last two years, and none this year...
S24 is historical popular in Asia

Hmm, this is $100 cheaper than I paid for S9+ with trade in (plus a "free" A9+). I don't really want the bigger screen, but the good deal still makes me consider it sending the S9+ back. stupid monkey brain.

Yup, same seller. And arrives sooner than the s9, making the trade in smooth

Think it's better to wait for S10 Ultra trade in deals to come along to trade in the S8U or trade up now and maybe trade up again later with this? Seems like paying tax twice would negate any trade in loss of value from waiting for the S10U to come out.

Just finally got order placed for 9 ultra with 8 trade. Took about 45minutes, chat to get link sent which also didn't work. I couldn't find S8 in trade list sometimes. Site is having real trouble.

Was able to replicate by selecting the S9 Ultra 1tb then selecting my S8 Ultra Trade. With tax total was $208 (damn NV charging tax on full retail). Didn't need an S9Ultra but for $200 will enjoy a better SOC and better battery and increased trade value in 2 years. Went with a Beige this time, spice things up. Will pick up at BB mid next week just before vacay.

From my experience, 12"+ is too big for these Android devices. They're good for media consumption but very lacking for serious productivity. Got an s9+ earlier this year for mobile design/editing of digital media and feels crippled and limiting. Just a heads up if you've not used an Android device this size. For youtube and streaming services, it's excellent and smooth!
