This is the same thing for the zero torque concept. Even Odyssey had a line called the Backstryke that released nearly 10 years ago. It's absolutely hideous, and really never marketed properly.
So this literally defines fad. LAB is a startup that became popular due to social media. They took an existing concept, marketed and branded it. Give it another few years to see if they're still in business.
I currently own a mezz and it's been revolutionary for me. After seeing my significant performance improvement with it, I've convinced 2 other buddies to get it themselves. I've tried and owned the DF 2.1 and the the original blade that looked like a stick of butter and the new one called link. The original DF was monstrous and amazing at keeping line but I couldn't get my distance control nailed with that one. The blades were harder to keep on line with mishits. The mezz has been amazing at both for me. You can also directly reach out to the company if interested to see if they have any "factory second" putters. They work perfectly fine except for minor cosmetic blemishes for a discount.
If it doesn't work for someone I think the reason why is because they're not able to alter their stroke. The whole idea with this is the face stays balanced so you have to get used to not manipulating the face open and closed like you've been used to your entire life with other putters. So you do have to put in some work to get used to it. Best drill I found for it is practicing with your thumbs off the putter.
As you can tell I'm a huge fan of these putters.
Either way, I tested the DF3 multiple times at my local PGASS and fell in love with it. Custom DF3 on order! We will see if my Scotty stays in the bag or not…
Look, if they work for you, cool. But they DEFINITELY don't work for everyone, and they are DEFINITELY one of the most blatant abusers of "free products" to YouTube influencers to get the hype train going. In fact, they even have an account at golfwrx and try to tell people they are wrong if they don't like them. Seems a bit funny to me, like it's marketing more than innovation.
