Inland is one of Microcenter's private brands, so they tend to run deals like this regularly.

Not a bad price for the form factor, but I would rather it had dram. SSD production has slowed raising SSD pricing. I saw an article that Toshiba is about ramp up production. I hope prices will drop in time for Black Friday. I bought a 4tb gen4 nvme last November for $189.

Well sure! It's a bit slow by comparison to others, but you would probably only notice it if moving large files around, like 4GB and larger. Otherwise, the IOPS are good so it should feel snappy for everyday tasks. And the price is finally right for an NVME SSD. This one wont get very hot so it would be great in a laptop.

I've done something similar with a N100 mini pc.

If your NUC supports NVMe, then you might be able to make it work. You would likely have to get an M.2 A/E to M.2 NVMe M adapter, I ordered one from aliexpress.

Slight word of caution, the throughput would like be slower than a proper M.2 NVMe slot, however it would still be faster than a SATA SSD.

Production is picking up again, we will see prices drop by this black Friday.
