100% not true. installing the Play Store is trivial, takes about 5 minutes.

Amazon should give these tablets away with toilet paper purchases lol. They are not even good for aging parents. Maybe you can use it for a home automation as a display. But they are slow lol

I was using an old phone as a monitor for my outside camera. Could I use this instead? Looks like I can download the app and it would work the same. The price is right.

As long as you can download the app from the Amazon App store, then it should work. These Fire tablets don't come with the Google Play store that has many more apps.

I have been using one for the kid for streaming and games. Installing Google Play Store opens up more possibilities with these Fire tablets.
