Am I the only person that prefers "regular" non-belgian waffles? What are they even called lol.

I do as well. Especially watching blood sugars it's better if they're thin.

Bought this a few months ago. I look at it as a one time purchase. Rarely make waffles but when I do they come out incredibly well.

Meh, this Oster looks like a better value for a waffle maker. https://www.amazon.com/Oster-Belg...00A1MEP6M/

Or just find one at a thrift store which is what I did.
When traditional waffle makers overflow they are hell to clean. The Ninja looks like it forces overflow out the front where it can be caught in a bowl or tray.

I highly recommend a waffle maker with removable plates. So much easier to clean because you can just pop them off and throw them in the dishwasher.

If it doesn't have that, I'm out.

I've always just oiled it first and wiped it off when done. Maybe I should clean it more though.

This thing is really good. I had the Cuisinart version before this - I think the Cuisinart version came out first.

Differences:
1. Cuisinart makes round waffles, Ninja square
2. Ninja has an off setting and 'doneness' selections. Cuis has settings, but doesn't have an off - you plug it in and unplug it to turn it off an on. Annoying.
3. Cuis is more top-heavy - I had it tip before.
4. Ninja nonstick seems better. I had to spray my Cuis every 2 cooks with PAM.
5. Cuis has leaked out the bottom a few times when batter was too thin. Haven't had this happen with Ninja, but maybe I'm better at making batter.

Other than that, they are basically the same - vertical belgian waffle makers.
