Yes, I would agree that Full Retail is certainly not a deal, but a deal breaker. B&H had them for on sale 3 days ago at $480 which was a respectable discount and price with the DS1821+ also on sale at -$150 off so $850 and when finally I decided which one I wanted while screwing around looking for a decent price on drives for one of these and the one I just purchased a few weeks ago along with finding out from another buyer that Crucial has a 64GB ECC SEt of RAM Module he found eork in his DS923+ and show as Synology MEmory both so no issues with Warranty if needing help in the future andd price of $!50 to Boot. So made the purchase to go in either one but I took to long and found when going back to purchqse the DS1821+ the sale had ended without warning with no date regarding length of time on sale. It was only about a day and a half to two days at most after I had found them. So was a bit, oh no and I'm now scouring every where looking as it usually changes from one vendor to another when on sale sometimes. I did pick up the 10 Gigabit card for the DS923+ I already have and heading oer to grab the two Synology SNV-3410-800G 800GB NVMe SSD Cache Modules now. Synology is quite limited on Allowed PRoducts for use in these but they're a solid solution. Picked up 4 x 16TB Seagate NAS SATA 6GB/s also. I'll keep looking and will post it here on Slick Deals if I do find any. Good Luck to the rest of you.

You can use script to allow any m.2 or HDD in the box :

Can u just install the drive and waive the warranty warning or ignore it? I don't have the Synology yet but ordered one. Is it relinquishing warranty support just for the drive or the whole NAS? Am looking at Exos X20 as I read they work. Any thoughts?
