What preservative are you talking about? Corn starch is not a preservative, it's naturally occurring. Please educate yourself before ranting here, you are making yourself foolish. Also, if you are talking about potassium chloride, it's a salt substitute.

Great deal IMO and I'm in for one at $9.82 shipped; thanks OP. This giant jug should last me at least 6 months; Highblood Pressurevile here I come. (You can "counteract" the high sodium with potassium supplements and drinking lots of water though; or at least my half ars research [google.com] seems to indicate this)

I use this stuff frequently to season vegetables, eggs and to make soup. It has a real nice flavor and its taste far surpasses any commonly found dehydrated bullion stock in groceries IMO. (I'm assuming there's probably far better in high end boutique food stores though). Also, it's so much more convenient to have the loose granules rather than the individually wrapped cubes which are so annoying to open...

First ingredient is salt and the second ingredient is monosodium glutamate and then there is a preservative next before you even get to the actual chicken part of flavor. This it's kind of crazy because ingredients are listed from the most used to the least used and I find it hard to believe that the preservative is in higher concentration than the actual chicken flavoring, but it is.

The stuff is shelf stable but the shelf life is 485 days and there are 1200 servings at 27% sodium per serving which means you will probably end up in poor health or killing yourself before you finish the tub.

Good luck...i passed after crunching the math. It is not worth it to kill myself over a a $12 bargain.

Sure if you're the only one eating. But if that's 1200 servings in over a year, it's not unreasonable for this to be used fairly consistently for 3 or more people

I don't know why you'd buy this if you were single unless you plan to have this around for years... Not everyone buying this is single though and might have a family so...

My mom uses this a lot in Spanish cooking. Now I know why it tastes so good it has msg in it haha. Better to just buy the msg alone so you can control the salt level though.
