This is not the newest/best model, it is last year's panel tech with the older RGB layout. It's not a bad monitor, just be aware that they have a newer model that is even better.

This is incorrect. This is the only MAG monitor on which the firmware can in fact be updated. https://www.msi.com/Monitor/MAG-3...t#firmware

This is an old panel (same as the one in the OG Dell/Alienware QD-OLED from a couple of years ago). But the upcoming "newer" model 341CQPX only upgrades the refresh rate to 240Hz and has some efficiency improvements. The pixel layout remains the same.
