Fyi if u bought this 2 weeks ago like me with only 16gb of ram, I called dell and said I'd prefer to not return and reorder to get the extra 16gb of ram and they credited me back 50 bucks to keep it as is
A few items of note:

I purchased this Dell a month ago and hope the similarity with the Alienware chamber cooling is effective (more so than the Lenovo 7i I previously had).

I do miss the ability to charge the laptop through the USB-C (even though it is tb4) as on the Lenovo and so I purchased this port adapter from Amazon (could be found cheaper on Aliexpress).

https://www.amazon.com/Charging-C...B0C7K8YYGW

It works well with my Lenovo C135 charger (most likely any 100w USB-C charger). I can't game with it (haven't even tried) and I did turn off the low power message in BIOS, but for lighter tasks it kept the battery slowly recharging. It did a very good job when the laptop was off.

I was unable to get a refund for the McAfee yearly subscription because it comes in a bundled package. I do not like McAfee's business model and don't want to support them. I just fully uninstalled.

The G16 does heat-up during more intensive tasks, the fans seem to be a little slow to kick in (it gets hotter than I like before they become more aggressive). I will be purchasing and utilizing a laptop cooling pad.

Right now, the site not to be named that starts with an ARE is offering ten percent back.

Yes its heavy but solid, the nits for the screen are good enough, fans on high can get noisy but very quiet when not gaming, the charging block is massive but overall I find it to be a very slick deal. While it is not as sleek as a Microsoft Surface or Macbook, it has a hybrid appeal, when used with the USB-C charger its simple design can fit into a professional/educational environment.

The options to increase/decrease power consumption are more confusing than with the Lenovo. I still have to figure out what is the best method to extend battery life when not gaming.(undervolting, MUX, etc).

This is a great deal on a powerhouse machine I spent $2,300 on a main gear for micro center a couple years back with a core i7 and a 3080 16 GB variant I wish this deal was around then lol would have saved myself $1,000 because in all honesty It's a powerhouse sure but I didn't really need all that and I don't really use it as much as you'd think lol It was meant to replace my desktop and I still use my desktop because it's always plugged in and powered on 😅

Not sure how do avail this. From the product link it gives "Error due to technical issue" when I click Add to Cart

If I manually search for this product and specs, it shows $1899

I don't think Dell has 500 nit displays at this class at least, most likely 300 or 350.

Deal is either dead or there is a technical issue.

That's what I thought. There was some deal on G16 same thing was questioned. Post stated 500 nits but someone mentioned the same what you stated.

Called to get money back on the ram (bought the black model which only had 16gb of ram 10 days ago when it was on sale for $1299), and at first they wouldn't price match because of the difference in color and the keyboard.

Maybe that makes sense (they're not the same machine because of the color and the keys) from _their_ perspective, but from a simplistic consumer perspective, the only significant difference is the ram.

I was polite, but by the end I was burned out - I think the C/S rep heard the fatigue in my voice, put me on hold for a minute, and offered 50 bucks, which is all I wanted in the first place.

I saw a G16 review where the reviewer said it tested at 497 - might be true, might be false (didn't recognize the reviewer).
