The fridge works without panels, and panels can be ordered separately and installed later. My much bigger issue is the laughable reputation for quality Samsung has developed for appliances. I had a friend once comment that everyone has old Frigidaire or Kenmore fridges (think 10+ years), but they had never seen a Samsung or LG fridge over 2-3 years old despite them supposedly being "market leaders" for so long. Makes it hard not to feel that they make it to intentionally break.
I have this refrigerator and I love it. Bens Appliances and Junk, who also doesn't like Samsung in general, gave this model fridge a great review. He tore it down and was impressed with the build and quality. The ice maker has been redesigned and put in the bottom drawer. I like the quality of the ice and the two different sizes.
Samsung and Samsung Bespoke are almost two different companies, so to speak. The bespoke line is made in Korea, whereas all other Samsung is made in China. And I think that's why the Bespoke model line is so much better.
I didn't check this particular one but beware, if you remove the custom panels, they would just send you the panel ready bare fride. it happened to my friend before
I can confirm, you will only get the refrigerator with no door panels and it's a hassle to return. unless you have spare panels, don't order, you will be going thru a lot of pain dealing with Samsung

Isn't Samsung giving free panels anymore?
They ran the promotion for a while

My Samsung fridge is a 2013 and still working great. I initially had the "ICING" on the fan issue when I first got it with my house purchase. I just changed the temp on the fridge which seemed to have permanently "fixed" the issue. Running these fridges at too cold a temp might be the reason for the ice buildup. I've heard that Samsung is trying to improve their reputation and these fridges are much better. But time will tell...

I hear you. Such a crap shoot. I got burned by an LG dryer and will never use the brand again. This is after another set of LG washer/dryer lasted from 2007 to 2018 and only replaced due to gasket cleaning being more expensive than a new one. However, I have a Samsung fridge from 2010 and it's still going strong as our second in the garage. I have to assume that a huge majority don't have issues and the ones that do really turn off repeat customers.

I have the promotion code, problem is they're all out of stock of the good colors. I've had my code for 6 weeks now and they've not come back into stock.

I would agree on Samsung making fridges of questionable reliability but LG is good in my experience. I have a LG fridge for 7 years with no issues.
We just got this fridge and ordered the navy steel panels. Tested out ge and Frigidaire. Both junk and we returned. Samsung wasn't an option until we looked into them. So glad we did this is by far a much better built appliance. The build quality is untouched. So far we are super happy we went with Samsung.
