I'm using reolink doorbells for the front and back door, no monthly fees, uses ethernet cables for power (POE), bought a 4k 4 camera refurb system with dvr for $275 off ebay that's also reolink and they all work together seamlessly. I'm happy with them. Paid $70 each for the doorbells so about a $430 dollar investment for my security system.

I have a blink doorbell and it doesn't have a card slot or anything so I use their sync module with a usb thumb drive and don't have to worry about subscription. Can still see live and it saves events

Info on plan here- basically $30 year for one device, $100 for unlimited devices.

$100 seems high to me.

You can avoid that by using the local sync module with a thumb drive

Blink is a waste anymore. They need to make them rechargeable with the way the price of ultimate lithium batteries went up in price. When I stocked up on them last time I paid $18 for each 24 pack which is like 75 cents each, now they are bout $2.50 a battery. Blink claims the last 2 years which is totally false. Real life usage is about 6 months. My stash of batteries are about gone, now it's time to just pitch the cameras

What about rechargeable batteries. I use ikea ladda batteries and they last about 2 months or so. But always telling me battery are low becauseof the voltage drop. I was looking at rechargeable lithium batteries but they are a lot more expensive than your standard rechargeables. Plus I'm not sure which brand to go with. It's not like eneloop pro made in Japan or ikea ladda made in Japan. I haven't gone down that rabbit hole yet

I've been looking at Eufy and Reo: Any reason you picked Reo over Eufy?

As an aside, your setup is great for a tech-savvy DIYer, but most people will pay for the convenience of swapping out their existing doorbell to save time.

I don't get the point of blink. Why not just use ring?

Tried to go with a wireless blink doorbell last month after my wires broke off and my Google nest doorbell could no longer be powered. This doorbell is absolutely awful. Catches every car that drives by but rarely connects when you need to actually see somebody at the door.

Depends on usage and your settings. I've got approximately 40 cameras on 2 properties and been using Blink for at least 5 years. Some cameras have batteries over 2 years old. The cameras I have setup for wildlife that get lots of hits might only get 3-4 months.
I've been getting batteries good till 2042 on eBay and paying about $1.25 a piece. Some of the listings are crazy expensive though.
Sam's Club sells an 18 pack for $34.98 ($1.94 a piece).

I wish they had a version like ring which had a battery and could charge over the doorbell wire.
