Just want to point out for those debating saws purely on the legnth of the Bar that the DeWalt line of chain saws use standard Bars and chains. If you have an 16" and also have a 18" or even 20" from another chainsaw you can within a minute swap it over to your dealt saw.
I have the 16" version. I can say this is just as good or better than a 2-stroke. Especially if you are a DIYer. I don't use my chainsaw enough to make sure it's always tuned up. I can slap a battery in this a year from now and it will run just as well. Highly recommended
Lol are you comparing a $2k+ gas chainsaw to a $200-$500 range line of battery powered saws? These electric saws are not meant to replace our gas powered heavy duty Stihls for all day/every day use in logging, they still have their place. My point was that already having a 12" 20v for limbing a tree or two, a 16" is useless, would want an 18"-20" for cutting trunk as a companion. You're trying to compare apples to asteroids 🤣

Nope, it doesn't say 9Ah 60V… it clearly says 3Ah 60V and 9Ah 20V.

Yes it's confusing to people…but it's easy to see it's their third biggest battery in the 60v lineup

I have had this saw for about 3 years. If you have a few flexvolt batteries already, this is a no brainier. I use this in a neighborhood of multimillion dollar homes to take out a few trees for a family member. A few of the neighbors were so impressed that they didn't know I was cutting them down, until they saw me. One of them offered me $500 to take drop a small oak tree about 14" around. I used 1 full 9AH to cut it up for the guy, took 30 minutes total.

At my family members property, I dropped a few 20'' oak trees that were as hard as anything I have ever cut. Each tree depending on what size you cut the logs and how much foliage there were took about a battery. For me this isn't an issue as I have many flexvolts. Will this replace a gas saw for all day everyday use? No, not likely. But having this in the back of my truck, slapping a battery in and being able to clear some trails without fussing around with gas was great.

I have a Stihl MS361, MS311, 460 and access to a 66/88 if I need to move huge wood.

The quietness of this saw was great for small DIY homeowner stuff.

I have the 16" version of this saw but I put on an 18" Oregon bar and chain as, at the time, it wasn't offered with an 18" bar. I have literally used this saw on our property for somewhere ~60-80 hours over the years. I use it for felling trees and limbing trees on our property. When I get out our big chipper, this is also my go to. I have a big Stihl gas chainsaw too, but I use it almost exclusively for bucking rounds. The Dewalt just cannot handle hours and hours of that. Bucking slurps the battery QUICK. I also have some trees that are bigger than an 18" bar can handle and denser than this saw can effectively do. If I was only doing a few trees here and there every year, the electric Dewalt is probably all I would need, but we were thinning a few acres and had A LOT of wood to process, so a gas saw was worth it timewise.

To recap, use the electric for felling any tree ~16" or less, limbing of trees, and you'll likely be super happy. For bucking lots of rounds, you'll likely be happier with a gas saw for that. The right tool for the right job!!

Also, do yourself a favor and get good quality chainsaw chaps, gloves, helmet, etc. I can show you pics of my leg with chaps on where I was wearing a $120 pair of chaps and the chaps saved me from $1000s in ER bills. All is takes is one time... I had to go buy a new pair of chaps, but so be it. Stay safe!
