Yep now they want a minimum of $50 to qualify for free shipping. Their PR crew is spinning bs about adding value with the change, but it's simply misleading tactics. Unless you need to go to the club really early the Plus membership is no longer worth it really.

Recent reports states Costco revenue is DOUBLE Sam's Club revenue.

Sam's club should be passing out FREE membership to make them appear as successful as Costco!

Bring back $10 membership which include a ROTISSERIE chicken, rolls and a pie!

no problem.let them deliver your $50 water cases. then cancel anytime. they prorate the refund for the rest of the yr. most of the time. if its only 1 or 2 months into the plus.they would provide full 100% refund.

As a Plus member I know, but it's the principle behind it. You still have to spend hundreds to get the difference back. With the $50 premium everytime you shop now to qualify for free shipping ($8 fee minimum under that amount) the incentive is less appealing.

When does this take effect. I just read there is no minimum at Sam's Club online. Might wanna screen shot it and say that's what you signed up for

It starts in August. Google search will show it. They're mainly just sending newsletter emails about it. They would never advertise it at the doors.

Thanx did it with a new email, number, address. But did pay for the membership with a credit card billing address to my old expired membership and phone number.

I got that email on June 19. They were adding more value to my membership. I saw they were adding free curbside pickup for free for $50 orders, then you could go to plus and have no minimum... and then it mentioned the free delivery/shipping at $50. I was so convinced that was for all (since I knew plus already had it with no minimum and this was about adding value), I was convinced that was for club members.

Looked back at again a few days ago and wondered... opened a question on their site. Got a pretty quick response that was a little evasive, but yes, it appears that I also misread what "to add more value to your membership" actually meant. I now realize that it is to add more value FOR THEM.

I see that they NOW if you click on that blue box, make it clear. they have "club member" over 1 item (curbside pickup), and "plus members" over the two %50 minimums.over the shipping.

Very misleading.

I wonder what it will do to what I use them for all year: gift cards for 25% off, always has been free shipping even for club members.

Yep, they key to fooling their system is, you should not put any identifying info and then once signed up, update your profile with the information you want to like Phone number, names etc

Thanks, worked for me! It did identify my old email address (and/or same mailing address) from over 2 years ago and asked if I wanted to Renew Membership or create new account and I clicked new account and it went through. Only things different were new phone # and credit card though I don't even think cc matters.
