There is a YMMV Amex offer that gives $15 back if you spend $50. Could work here if you spend more for upgrades more than one pair.

This would be important if glasses in brick & mortar stores didn't cost $400.

You can get progressives in standard ($19.99) or premium ($24.99) in the 1.61.

Use a progressive prescription and choose either Standard or Premium progressive lenses. Then, choose Blokz lenses and then Blokz Photochromic.
Does the premium progressives the wide field of view for reading?

I spoke to CSR and confirmed their website is experiencing some issues.

But what do you enter in all the other fields? Do you leave them all with zeros, and just put in the Add of +0.75 in this example?

The manual prescription asks for a bunch of other numbers:
Right Eye - OD: SPH, CYL, Axis
Left Eye - OS: SPH, CYL, Axis
Add:
You put in zeros or leave it blank.

Spherical lenses correct near/far-sightedness. Nearsightedness is corrected with a - and farsightedness with a +. Cylindrical lenses correct astigmatism and have an axis measurement to align with the eye's football shape.

The ADD is for progressives/bifocals and kinda like if you were to put a pair of drug store readers over top of your "distance" glasses.

Readers are just a + on the spherical. And no cylinder. No ADD either, since they effectively ARE the ADD.

Your +0.75 would be:

Right Eye - OD:
SPH +0.75,
CYL 0, Axis 0

Left Eye - OS:
SPH +0.75,
CYL, 0, Axis 0

ADD:n/a

Yes. If you look at the diagram when you choose the type of progressive, the "sweet spot" is larger for the premium progressives. I've only had my premiums for a week so I can't really comment on the difference.

I have had good luck with these:

Hangtime 125116
Oval Glasses 125922
Oval Glasses 2032321
Rectangle Glasses 125024
Rectangle Glasses 124512

They are all sturdy plastic with solid hinges. Maybe not the lightest, but they don't feel too heavy.

I love the Rectangle Glasses 125024 and have at least three pair in different colors. Single vision distance, Progressive sunglasses, and my daily driver mid-range progressives. Highly recommended.

I got the Hangtime with impact-resistant lenses because of the optional snap-on-shields. The glasses are solid, but the shields are underwhelming.

Rectangle Glasses 2018916 is very light and flexible but feels cheap—like giveaway sunglasses. Glad I didn't upgrade the lenses.

I am tired of wearing readers (+1.75) and taking them off for distance. My distance vision is +0.5.

I was thinking of trying progressive lens via Costco. Any reasons I should NOT try costco?

thanks
A perfect reason to get a cheap pair of Zenni Progressives.

This deal with $6.95 frames would be $27 for standard progressives or $32 for premium progressives.

[QUOTE=Zerosvn;171599805]Don't forget to use your 15 off 50 Amex cashback if you have it.

I went for 2 light weight frames (1 titanium half frame and one frame-less) with blockz photochromic. Had to go to 1.67 on the frame-less to take it over $80 for the extra 15%. Either that or get the frame in this deal for extra $19.
Man, a complete photochromic pair of glasses for under $20 is a crazy deal.

I've been buying from zenni for years and they have good stuff. Check out flex titanium frames if you get a chance.

For that titanium frame is 1.61 optimal? I feel like ive been upcharged to 1.67 by local retailers

Been getting Zennis since the fatwallet days. I like the new 1.67 grey photochromatic EyeQ lenses and have recently tried the progressive version, which l like even better. it was really easy for me to get used too. Tips- Make sure you get spring hinges - will last longer. First time app orders get 15% - but unlikely to stack.

That's the second recommendation for the titanium frames. I added them to my favorites for future consideration.

you can manually enter your prescription and put in any date that you want to. thus, you do not need a "current" prescription to order.
thanks!

that's only for contacts. you can enter whatever whatever values you want. they don't ask you to upload anything for glasses, nor do any verification.

you should still be going to the eye doctor and getting regular check ups. even if you've had the same prescription for years. if you are near sighted, around 40 your prescription will start needing to be toned down a little as your eye shape changes. if you were able to read without glasses, you will start no longer being able to.
thanks!
