The old one is the best, the new one sucks. That said, yea this is the "newer" one that works with google home and ADT

Yeah I have the 1st generation wire doorbell and I've read it's an issue where when someone rings the doorbell, the video recording stops and you can't see who rang the doorbell. Hopefully this isn't an issue

Yes, that's a known issue with the first gens and turning off the chime is the work around or replace an interior component (forgot which one). If you have a Google mini, home or nest hub/max then it will announce the doorbell notification.

does this one connects to the low voltage wire that a regular doorbell uses? We moved into a new home and I'm not very familiar with such tech. Any pointers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have these and they are problematic with my UniFi system. I had the 1st gen with issues and the new gen has problems as well. My doorbells have an AP within 10 feet of each doorbell and still, when people ring the doorbell or someone is detected, I can't view the video as it says not ready yet.

Is this the new version? Googling, I can't tell for sure how many iterations there have been. I've had the original but it's been having issues that I can't seem to troubleshoot.

The issue is the battery (it has an internal battery that's not mentioned anywhere really https://www.googlenestcommunity.c...m-p/288333). Would basically reboot when someone rang the doorbell. I've successfully replaced mine buying a replacement battery off amazon for like $13 and it remedied the issue. Followed this guide: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nest...ent/131729

I've since moved over to a eufy doorbell since the nest subscription went up to $80 from $50.

Thank you, didn't know the subscription went up, I remember it was 60$ for a whole year and doesn't matter how many nest camera you use. I'll have to check my subscription again

As an owner of this product I would caution you on the purchase. It sucks.
