This is a terrific game. Some people didn't enjoy the humor, but it's a great value for $6.
The game is pretty fun. Kind of like a "temu breath of the wild". But requiring Ubisoft connect makes even this not that great of a deal. Just let me play my single player games please.
I have the same question, I already have the game for the Switch. Tempted on getting the gold edition if the additional content is worth it.

From reddit:

The Gold Edition comes with the 3 DLCs. Each DLC focuses on one of three pillars the game is based on: puzzles, exploration, and action.

DLC 1 is a continuation of the main story, and starts off after you finish the main game. It's extremely puzzle heavy.

DLC 2 is a brand new world and mythology. Think of it as a reskin of the main game, but instead of Greek mythology, the focus is Chinese mythology, and smaller in scale. It's more exploration focused.

DLC 3 takes place in the Greek mythology world with a new main character. It has a fixed isometric camera (kind of like Diablo) which can be annoying. This DLC is very action focused.

Considering the sale price, Gold edition is worth it. I really enjoyed DLCs 1 and 2 mainly due to the puzzle aspects of the game. DLC 3's camera took some time to get used to.

Steam deck playability looks poor. Already finished the game on Switch but was hoping to add more games to my new Steam deck. It's a really fun game
FWIW I played 60+ hours total on the OLED Steam Deck a couple months back and had no issues aside from the framerate getting choppy every 15 hours or so. Exiting and restarting the game fixed it every time. I do put the deck to sleep a lot so that might have had something to do with it. The UBI Connect stuff is annoying but you do it once and then never again, just need to make sure you have an internet connection the first time you start the game.

I played this on PS5 on release and it's a very fun game.

Combat is the best part of the game.

Very huge map with tons to do

At around 70hrs I did get over everything and rush to finish the game but it's a steal at this price

Gets compared to BotW a lot, and it has some similarities, but the combat is closer to modern Assassin's Creed games. Played this on the XSX back when it came out. Definitely worth it for this price. Going to re-buy for PC so I can play the DLC.

Sank 90+ hours into the game (standard edition). Really enjoyed the open exploration mechanics and visuals. Sometimes it was just fun to find a high point and do a leisurely panoramic sweep to take in the vista. Dialogue humor was corny but forgivable. One negative for me: The progressive complexity of the vault puzzles is where the game became wearisome over time and I started to rely on walkthrough guides for the sake of moving the story mode along. That said, $4 bucks is a no-brainer, IMHO.

Is the gold edition worth it
Yes. Spent $20 getting the gold edition on Xbox and probably going to get it again for Steam. I also bought copies for my switch and PS5. Save files can be uploaded and played across any platform.
DLCs are fun but each so different from the main game. Even so, if you love logic and puzzle solving, DLC one is great. DLC 2 is the same as the main game except you start all over as a new character in a new map. Also quite fun but not as grand. DLC 3 took a while to get into, and I hated the top-down view but eventually you can find ways to combine skills to quickly combo attacks and powers and have fun killing overpowered enemies without losing much health or stamina.

The puzzles part is what's held me back from buying this game. Luxury puzzles are fine but having to find guides to solve puzzles is a bridge too far.

Basically a better version of BOTW. Hate ever supporting Ubisoft but this price is reasonable.
Whoa. That's going a bit far.

Why do you need it on so many systems? Lol

I don't think I'd say it's a better game, but I'm with the other guy in that I definitely enjoyed it more...
I played Fenyx before playing BOTW and I think this game is good if you never plan on playing BOTW. It's very similar but worse when it comes to repetition of enemies, repetition of puzzles, lack of interesting side quests, etc. A few things I missed from Fenyx Rising were not worrying about weapons breaking and not having to cook. You also never lose your horse.

Overall, Fenyx Rising felt like a grind; BOTW felt like an adventure.

When GameStop had their buy games and get some free, or their other promos. They cost less than $10 each and I even sold some back and got double store credit. Great to be able to play it on console, upload save to cloud, then pick right off on the go on my switch.

Thanks, didn't know save files were cross platforms.

See, to me the durability and weather mechanics in BotW made it much more of a chore. But to each their own...
