This is a strange post. Even your analogy annoys me as a base-model BMW is still a car that many people can afford. A Rolex is purely a luxury item that very few people can justify.

If you don't have a subwoofer, you don't have a good system.

Large towers within a slickdealers budget are not going to have the extension of a home theatre subwoofer. When you listen to music, you will be missing parts of the song. If the bass is too loud, then turn it down -- you will still have the extension below 30hz that you're missing from the rest of your speakers.

The cylinder shaped PC-2000 is tall but not wide. Might not be obtrusive if you can tuck it in a corner. You'll get fantastic bass and can use their bluetooth app to customize the output.

You might consider the Micro, has a very small footprint & surprisingly decent bass.
Nice thing with SVS, you get 45 days to try it out and if it doesn't work out free return shipping.

The Micro is a powerhouse for its size but has a very small footprint and will be very easy to hide. It will provide plenty of higher frequency punch for impactful scenes as well as low-end but can be fine-tuned to personal and family preferences.

Yeah they started it early but the website did say 10AM. They usually re-stock the blemished items every morning and thats what goes fast.

I felt the urge to check at 901am just in case and I was glad I did; panicked when the sub in my cart fell out in the middle of checkout (need to fix that). I did manage to get a PB-1000 Pro, hopefully it will indeed show up this week.

I've been out of home theater for 15 years. Had a great system with a Hsu sub. I recall at the time SVS was a big name in subwoofers.

How do these stack compared to the RSL subs I see posted here sometimes? Is the RSL a reasonable facsimile for less?
