These have the improved cooling and acoustics which is considered best in class for the moment. Wish it had more nits but plenty serviceable.

Those Alienware laptops displays are just trash in terms of brightness, they went cheap on that.

You're not wrong. It's my biggest and only real gripe. I've been an AW laptop buyer for a while, this gen is otherwise great. I've been doing fine with 300 nits, just disappointing.

What alternative do you suggest?

To wait for the next generation batch of those Alienware, most likely will increase nits and maybe an OLED display. Alienware is catching up on everyone else in terms of the display.

Was just using one of these at Best Buy seemed nice. I'm glad to see a 16 inch gaming laptop without a number pad, those always irritate me.

Is the ram soldered?

I had really bad experience with Alienware laptop.
My M15R2 barely lasted an year before motherboard gave up.
And then replacement motherboard model was never available in stock.
Laptop is just collecting dust in bottom drawer of cupboard.

Got it for 1092 out the door with Amex and cashback. Great find. Ive only owned dell xps and alienware and have never had an issue with the laptops themselves. The customer service on the other hand....

If you need something before 2025, I suggest Acer predator, the nits are higher on the lower spec predator models, Helios if you can find a high spec at a reasonable price. Legion 5 or 7 if you find it configured with higher nits screen. I'm going based off the assumption that 300 to 350 nits is not what you want.

Lenovo Legion 9i mini led screen with 1100 dimming zones and it's a beast. Oh and 1200 nits lol

You didn't push them? They pretty much always replace with the newest model when this happens 🤣

Can't tell if you are trolling. You would be the only person in the world who doesn't want a numpad. That's pretty much the turn off for everyone.

This deal is only for the RTX 4060, when you click the link, the Dell page populates the 4060 but when you select the 4070, price jumps. Best Buy has the 4070 option for 1499
