I'm a fan of Civ. I've heard of humankind before, but I've never played it.

Reviews might be mixed, but at this price for the definitive edition including all DLCs, I'm going to grab it. I've always been curious about this game.

I just bought the code, redeemed on Steam, and the game is now in my Steam Library. I haven't installed it yet, but it says the size will be 34.5 GB.

Also, buying the code gave me both the PC and Mac versions, in case anybody was wondering about that.
That was the case when it released but it's much improved now. At this price it's worth a shot for those who enjoy Civ and other similar games, it has its own style to set it apart, for better or worse...

The game has mixed reviews on Steam ATM. A lot of not-so-good reviews. It is currently on sale for $24 on Steam ... so this is a bargain for a game with issues.

I got this for free from one of the monthly giveaways.... I like Civ but I couldn't get into this. Maybe I need to try again.

For the record, I do not like Civ 6 and I paid full price for that sucker. I have spend 1000x more hours in Civ V and with the Vox Populi mod, it is amazing. What it is not however, is fast. Games take DAYS, not hours. I saw a comment on here about how fast Civ 2 was.... I miss those days. And it doesn't matter if you have a supercomputer bc Civ V isn't really multithreaded very well. Late game turns with TONS of units and cities and city states can take quite the time between turns. But that leaves time to get up and get a beer at least

Can't call a game mankind because it's misogynistic

Unless somebody played it on Playstation 1!

That was the first time I played Civ 2, it was on the PS 1, and that's what got me hooked on the Civ series.

But, it was crazy slow, especially later game. Turns would literally take many minutes, while you waited for the computer to take their turn. But, I patiently waited, because I had no choice, and the game was worth playing, even with the slowness.

I know this comment was an attempt to poke fun at social issues, but in case anyone was wondering, the "man" in "mankind" comes from Old English "mann," meaning "person," and could be used to refer to anyone regardless of sex. So it actually makes sense to change the word to "humankind" because of the obvious evolution of "man(n)" into "human male." Just part of the natural evolution of words, with no real connection to political views

Anyway, it looks like the price increased a bit, but still seems like a really solid deal.
