Why do all these new smartwatches make us tethered to the charger on the daily? I see from the reviews that some people are getting less than 18 hours of battery life even with AOD off. Unlike phone charging, charging a smartwatch requires quite a bit more work. If you use the watch for sleep tracking, and you don't charge it at night, are you supposed to bring the charger with you everywhere you go?

Most people actually don't use this for sleep tracking anyways, so you charge when you sleep just like your phone. Yes, if you sleep track you will have to find more creative ways to charge but between showering and just watching TV, you should still be able to find about 90-120 minutes in your day.

Battery life on any smartwatch all depends on how much you use the watch just like with a phone so it is very variable. On a smartwatch, it depends a lot on how many notifications you get, especially if you have it set to vibrate when you receive a notification. I have it set up to only receive notifications from certain apps and not all notifications and it has helped alot.
