Never used this particular board, but I remember they also tested the dulling knives thing on end grain vs edge grain and said it didn't make a difference.

1. This is the lowest it's been price-wise, end-grain boards this size will be 3-4x this price
2. This is was an America's Test Kitchen winner for cutting boards

Teak cutting boards might dull knives cause apparently it has silica in it. I'm going to opt to spend the extra for a maple or walnut.

Also just fyi, this is edge-grain not end-grain (the better one).

Edge grain vs End grain, Who would have known? Slick Deals is a great learning platform too. $50 sounds pricey though.

For a wooden cutting board of this size, $50 is quite cheap

I own this board and so far it has been great! I switch between this and 1 other large wooden cutting board that I have for cooking and this is my preferred one of the two. I bought it in store for $50 or $60 a little less than a year ago so with shipping included, this seems like a good deal if you're looking for a decent wood board. Not as good as boos block, but those are closer to $200 for this size.

How much faster does it dull knives?
Everything dulls knives so you need to know the speed.

Maple also contains silica. I have this same board but with the juice groove on one side, as well as a slightly smaller maple board. I use the Teak more only because it's bigger and has a juice groove, I prefer the look and feel of my maple. I did have to claim warranty on the first teak one because it started splitting, but the second one has been flawless.
