Somewhat depends on your background and interest. It was written before agile became common although many places still run waterfall (or say they run agile, but really just renamed legacy processes). I'd recommend it, especially if you are considering getting into management one day or have any interest in operations/efficiency, but even if not, it's still worth it as an engineer. At a minimum, it may make a number of processes you see make a lot more sense.
I'd agree with this, and I'd also throw The Goal by Goldratt in the mix (I'd recommend it after Phoenix but before Unicorn).
