Pretty wild specs on paper for the price. 4090 is a beast of a card +i9. Screen apparently isn't great. But if you're like me and use external monitors, not a big deal.

1600p, 240Hz, and 100% DCI-P3 isn't great for you? Wow.

I think it looks great, but according to reviews it's soso. I haven't used it, that just seems to be the only complaint reviews really have!

The 5090 is around the corner due for October. Plus, inflation these things are sitting right now.

Random Question but hopefully someone with more knowledge than me can advice. If I were to buy a laptop like this (or any other with TB4) and bought a TB4 dock. Am I able to use the Nvidia GPU on any external monitors through the dock? Or do I need to connect directly to the laptop for that?

And the mobile version (for laptops) won't be released until the following year.

Man I'd love to have this, but can't justify the additional $1500 cost over the open box g14 I got a couple days ago.. I only game occasionally. The $900 2024 G14 hit the spot for me. Slickdeals always tempting me with buyers remorse tho.

Just curious why would one buy a gaming laptop of this caliber? Are you actually playing games outside of home plugged in?

Yes. I, and like many others, travel around for work or pleasure and take these kinds of laptops with us. It stays plugged in at the hotel and on the plane or waiting for my next plane, I use my steam deck.

It's a laptop.... meant for traveling. It doesn't matter if it's a low end laptop that gets 10+ hours unplugged or a high end laptop that gets an hour or so unplugged.

I would also buy it for light gaming. Doesn't have to be hard-core gamers.

Light gaming at work, plane, school, home. Also the ability to take all your files with you everywhere (Google drive works too but it's not the same) instead of having a gaming computer in living room and a laptop.

Essentially it's the fancy living room computer in your hands

You'd travel with a 16" laptop??

Why not? What else do you do with it?
