Not sure what might have happened that caused them to break (drop I assume) but generally the case breaking is a good sign that energy was absorbed by that case that otherwise would have been transferred to your phone and potentially caused damage. Much like modern cars, you don't want something that can survive an accident unscathed, you want something that breaks in all the right ways to protect what's inside. It's not that hard to make a case that can survive a fall off a skyscraper, it's much harder to make one that breaks exactly when it needs to in order to protect your phone.

Personal opinion based on personal experience:
1. The grip is not good and many times, it has slipped my hand.
2. After a few months, it started to deform on the button side
3. The cover for the charging hole is rather annoying to open and keep open when you plug in the cable.

I had better experiences with my other cases from this brand.

The good news is Otterbox not only has a warranty, but actually backs it. I to have broken that skeletal plastic part in my Defender. Otterbox replaced it. the phone was protected both times. That's what's important. The phone doesn't break. BTW I've been buying Otterbox Defender since Note 4 and still buy them. I've dropped many times and nver broke a phone.

Well 1st time using woot and didn't get the size or style I ordered. Also the package looked like it had been opened already and possibly used. I'm pretty frustrated.

I just got mine and it's for an s22 plus. Instead of s22 same for you?
