Got my tv today...

https://ibb.co/N3dmL1B
https://ibb.co/VJbn51H

Panel indeed runs at 120hz... Much more clear and brighter than Hisense r6 i got last year

Oddly, when connected to my laptop via hdmi, i can run at 2k at 120hz... But at 4k it only runs at 60hz .. not sure if it's an issue with my lg gram Intel igp or the tv...

Edit: oh it's my Intel igp... Doesn't support 4k at 120hz
Fair point on the 2023 U series all having MiniLED tech, 2024 wasn't the first year.

That being said, you're still wrong on multiple levels.

The U6N is QLED + miniLED, which is better than plain QLED of this QD7…

Also the U6N has full array local dimming, whereas this QD7 is direct lit with no local dimming….

Therefore this cannot sit above the U6N. Welcome to the club, you're wrong also.
Your contribution to this topic is greatly appreciated and full of useful information.
Bye now!

According to spec, this is direct lite vs full array on u6-8
However, this one is similar to u7 that it has qled and 144hz native

Not sure how reputable, but a couple of the 5 reviews on BB say close to 1000 nits.

Hisense switched to MiniLED for U6/7/8 series this year. This is edge lit, no local dimming, no mini LED, etc.

This sits below all of the 2024 U series, which means they should've put a "5" in the model number & not a "7".

EVERYTHING you said is incorrect...you are so wrong on so many levels...

U6/7/8 series had miniLED last year as well... not much of a difference between this year u7n vs last year u7k... here is a comparision https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/c...shold=0.10

This TV is absolutely better than a 6 series... this has QLED and runs at 144hz native...and according to review near 1000 nits.. I'd say this sits right between a U6 and a U7

Hey yall! So, I've been eyeing the u7/8 for about a week or so, but this qd7 came on my radar and theres very little info about it, Hisense doesn't even have a page for it. It appears to have all the features of these newer sets, jut with being direct lit. (no local diming)
Right now, its $749 at BB, you can price match it down to $599 from P.C.Richard and Son [pcrichard.com], then after that you can get another $200 for BB Plus., which brings it to $350 off $749 = $399 After taxes around 500 bucks for a 75" with great features.
I think I'm gonna bite the bullet, and give it a shot. I hope the display itself is not terrible, if so I'll just return and look for a u7. Just thought I would add all the info i found!

-UPDATE-
So, after extensive chats and conflicting info, BB wouldn't do both price match AND the BBplus discount. "The $549 Best Buy Plus discount is already cheaper" BS.
I ended up canceling the order.

The U6N still has miniLED, which is better than plain QLED of this QD7

U6N has local dimming but it doens't specify how many zones... This at least has QLED so it should be similiar to Mini-led on U6N. However, the QD7 is 144hz native vs U6N at 60hz native it sits right there between a u6 and u7

This sits below the U series (no miniLED, no full array local dimming), don't buy it.

The U series are cheap enough. You'd be better off buying a 2023 U series (U6K, U7K, U8K) than buying this ultra cheap model.

Enjoy the fact that the U series are as cheap as they are. Try to go even cheaper & you're bound to regret it (unless your budget literally can't exceed $600)

You're out of your depth here, it sits below the U6N (which is why it's so cheap).

A 75" U6N is $800 even on major sale, this QD7 is $200 less than that (which is more proof that it's inferior).

Well I am stil curious to see the difference in quality on an actual screen. On paper the QD7seems to be more inexpensive with better features and a larger screen, but if the screen looks terrible, features don't matter too much. Sometimes ya just gotta look at em with your own eyes! I ended up cancelling because I couldn't get both discounts and I didn't need BB Plus, but I still wanna see it!

QLED ~= MiniLED
U6N = MiniLED + local dimming
QD7 = QLED + 144hz native panel + possible local dimming + possible higher brightness

so U6N < QD7 < U7N and its priced accordingly as well.. why is it so hard for you to understand that?....

local dimming is not everything for godsake... especially on a low/mid end set like U6N where there is only like 48 local dimming zones (U6H)
