Trying to sign my wife up for a new membership cause I let my own membership lapse a month ago and I don't think they'd give me the deal.

Question: will she (and me, the household member) have to get in line at the membership office and get a new Costco card?

I have an active gold star membership that expires end of next month and signed up my wife for the executive membership last night - will update if/when we receive the sign up bonuses. There was some discussion about getting a $100 off coupon using the code on groupon so I used that instead. She was not a household member on my account so I'm fully expecting to receive them.

I'm pretty sure you need to make a visit to the membership counter to print your new membership cards but you can use it right away online.

Btw, has anyone that signed received the cash card and/or coupon yet? The fine print said it could take up to 2 weeks to receive them ...

Can you cancel auto-renewal down the road before the year is up and still keep the $40 digital card? I usually go to Sam's because of Scan & Go (amazing how few people use it), but at net $20 with Gold (basic!), I'm willing to try Costco. I just don't want next year to roll around and be stuck with auto-renewal at $60 or whatever they raise it to. TIA!

Not sure if this has been mentioned but one of my financial emails i receive had a snippet that Costco was raising their member pricing soon. I havent read it yet so I do not know the details of how much or when.

So far I've found restaurant supply stores seem to have better stuff an prices an don't usually require a membership. The cheesees I got from restaurant depot taste like some restaurant stuff an not like kraft cheese or worse Walmart cheese 😆. They both even melt differently their own way. The cheapest mozzarella they had at 15$ for 5lb (half off with instacart deal) was soft almost like curds an fresh mozzarella, but not wet. I've always preferred sysco cheesecake that's sold at fine establishments far better than any store brand I've found

Last time I did this offer(Dec 2022), you could cancel auto-renewal immediately, online, but best to wait until after you receive the "shop card". That's what I did.

I didn't completely use up the card until almost the very last day before membership expiration.

My local Costco is crazy too. I love Sams club because of the app, it's so much more convenient than having to wait in long checkout lines at Costco. I also like how easier it is to use the app to purchase fuel. I won't be renewing my costco membership this year, especially now they're raising the membership fee.
