The Tapo 2K camera is much better in terms of connection speed and image quality. I tried both Blink and Tapo, and Tapo captured motion while Blink didn't at all.

I've not compared with Tapo, but I have just about every Blink camera including the wired mini that is the item in this deal. All capture motion video just fine. YouTube has many examples for you.

You have to connect power adapter with Tapo. Need something with battery power.

btw these 3rd gens have way better image quality than previous 2nd gen. it's finally par with other 1080p cameras in same price bracket($20-40). people need to stop comparing with $70-150 cameras(nest eufy etc)

Amazon is being greedy charging subscription fee. At least give free a couple seconds video if motion is trigger. It costs nothing for a couple of second video. Thumb down on this product.

Does this camera utilize SD cards for recording , if you dont want to pay for the cloud subscription? (Like Wyze cameras?)

you need a sync module for local recording. You plug a USB stick into the sync module to store the data. The cameras does not have storage on them.

Yes, I just got a couple. Plus I think the quality of the footage looks worse. Maybe because they are both 1080p but this is wider?

The 30-second clip limitation with 10 seconds between clips really turns me off for Blink. I never would've gone into this ecosystem had I know that ahead of time, so I figured I needed to make this known.
