The battery life stays around 95% even with the generic panels. I got a non ring panel for $20 4W and its been going strong without issue. I bought 2 batteries just in case if we went weeks without good sunlight, but have yet to need it. To give you an idea, I get around 20 notification a day on some of my cameras due to the people passing by.
