Looking for a new laptop and just checked it out at costco (Brand new is on sale for $650)
I have not historically been an acer fan, but this laptop feels solid.

- Keyboard was my favorite out of all the windows laptops at costco; I personally liked it as much as than the macbooks.
- The two thunderbolt 4 ports are also a very welcome addition; this allows me one cable for charging, displays, and peripherals. (many other budget laptops dont charge or cant push two 1440p displays).
- 400 nits and touchscreen is another plus
- reviews seem to mention speakers and fan noise are bad. (couldnt tell in costco).

willing to take a shot here for 100 less and 2 yr warranty.
Thanks OP!

I was on the fence, but I've had great luck with used/open box laptops as long as I stress test them in the 30 day return window. Plus there's a 2 year warranty if anything goes wrong.

With shipping/CA taxes its $720 for new, or $588 so $132 difference (20%ish)

Completely reasonable to get new if it makes more sense to you!

there are tons of different apps out there and also you would want to go even further for a gaming pc, but here are a few guides to get you started

Had it been anywhere but costco i would say you're right - but with costco and electronics i would always recommend buying there unless its like 50% difference.

What's the main reason for always buying Costco for electronics?

I do like the 90 day return policy, but if I've never had a chance to use Costco's warranty on anything!

Not ideal, you're right, considering how many mid-range laptops have 90hz or 120hz. But this offers the benefit of a touchscreen and it's not a gaming machine, anyway. The Ultra H-series can handle some gaming (~3,400 Time Spy on this model, from what I read), but 60 FPS is probably a realistic goal anyway, right?

edit: I was wrong, ignore

IIRC the only downside to this model is a cheaper plastic build, but reviews seem to indicate it's still plenty sturdy.

Not many people have Wi-Fi 7 routers.
