But much better CPU, double onboard storage, and dual-GPS (accuracy improvement) and the sensors are 30% faster/more accurate.
I'm upgrading, is only $80 (44mm/BTwifi) with watch 6 trade-in (without edu/biz discounts).

I would say this is the biggest improvement (6 to 7) since the change between (3 to 4). 4 through 6 were fairly minor changes.
for the people saying 'not much different' ... these are watches, what do you expect? they've pretty much done the same thing functionally since day one. they just do those things better each iteration.

Couldn't get more than 1, so used my govt account for the 2nd one for the wife. Total was $79.99 for the Watch 7 with Watch 6 trade in, and I got the Buds3 Pro for $119.99 with Buds2 Pro trade in. Pretty happy overall.
Like others have noted, got a 2nd band for free though it's a pink and I couldn't choose for that at all.
