Does anyone own this saw? Looking for feedback on it. I need a track saw for PVC decking.

This is a good review, except he failed to put a good blade on it. The Ridgid saw works better with a Diablo blade.

I don't own it but have been doing a bit of reading about various track saws out there. Quick summary: this is one of the better track saws *in it's price range*. The biggest negative is that it is not compatible with other brand tracks. In short, if you're already in the Ridgid battery system it's a good buy.

Thank you. I am already on the RIDGID platform basically because of the LSA on the batteries. I have been happy with the tools, especially the brushless ones. I was leery of a cordless track saw but it sounds like this one is pretty solid and the 8ah will definitely help.

I bought when it was last at this price point. Great track saw! Makes cutting lattice, plywood and even smaller 2x material easier with clean cuts. It doesn't replace a good 7-1/4 circ saw for all things, but is a great compliment for straight cuts.

Would be missing the full lifetime warranty, but also $262.50 right now at Direct Tools Outlet for a factory reconditioned one: https://www.directtoolsoutlet.com.../ZRR48630B

I own it, have for like 6mo or so (whenever it released).

It's been stellar. May be a tad weaker than a beefy 7-1/4 circ but has cut everything I need it to up to 4/4 oak. I mainly use it for sheet goods.

Seems like this one doesn't include the battery, compared to the original deal just FYI.

Not sure why you would need a track saw for decking? Miter, circular should be it.

Track saw is really for sheet goods, long cuts

It could be that the person is putting a half board width border around the deck. I have done them in the past like that and always used a table saw. I think a track saw would work for it, but I agree with your comments.

They're probably running the boards long and come back and cut it afterwards so all the boards line up.

A tracksaw would definitely make that a lot quicker.

Not $400 quicker, but that's me. Every time I want to buy a track saw I make myself a deal: on my next project requiring long straight cuts, I will buy a track saw if my current 96" MDF straight guide doesn't do the job. It's been at least ten years. And honestly - I don't want another tool to store.
