I haven't, but I did play One Piece Odyssey without having any knowledge of the show, and I could not get into that game at all. This one has the same mediocre reviews as that game, so I'm assuming it's the same "meh" experience, and only big fans of the show will enjoy it.

I've tried a bunch of anime-based games, and they have all been no better than ok.

That's because they're all quick cash grabs, and bandai namco handles the IP for all this kind of stuff.

Usually the issues are: repetitive, look like PS3 games, crappy animations, bad dialog, etc.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is the only game that looks like any effort went into that, but the dev that worked on that has a history of making fighting games.

Well the show is garbage. I usually watch the first episode of every new anime each season and I couldn't withstand more than 3 minutes.

The Bleach fighting games on the NDS were actually great. Honorable mention to a few of the Naruto 3D fighting games from the PS2/PS3 era only because I never liked the series but the games had fun mechanics.

My buy price is $20, most reviews mentions it's not great.
Enjoying anime games usually means being familiar with the source.

Yeah I heard that from a friend. The art style grabbed my attention with this game and then I found out it's a show. Sounds like a pass on both. Thanks.

Damn, I was interested in this and was coming here for comments hoping positive but kind of thinking it might be bad cause I didn't see too much of it after launch. I did like blue dragon though, but I can agree with why that got such negative reviews at launch. Maybe pick this up when it's even cheaper it looks like.

This game is absolutely delightful and definitely one of my favorites of the year.

I recommend avoiding the demo as it doesn't really represent the full game well.

There is a demo available for the three big platforms (PS5, XBOX, PC). I gave it a whirl. I liked the art style but the game-play was pretty meh. I'd download and give it a try before committing. I can see this dropping to 20 or below pretty quickly.

IGN I feel had a pretty great review, overall a solid B game. Not very long though either. I really like the way you can switch instantly with vehicles alone seem cool. Also $35 on Amazon but not on Walmart since I last checked. 👍🏼
