Slickdeals staff lying to get referral money by ppl clicking on the links. Pretty sad.
LPDDR. Remember you can NOT upgrade the RAM. So until LPCAMM2 becomes more mainstream I would __maybe__ skip it?
Granted only you can judge this.
40% should be fine with only 16GB of RAM for another 2-3 years but they keep adding more and more stuff to the internet ??
Once you run out of RAM, even a 3k fast PC crawls.
MS behind the scenes are also uploading your files to their cloud, so more resource's and more tracking. Already over 700 companies spying on us for the Gov't.
Just watched Switch to Linux or Switched to Linux on YT about this. Thinking of testing Linux Mint on old 8th Gen ? Have 12 Gen laptop now with Windows 11 Pro and thinking of PopOS or Debian 12.6. but I'll probably wuss out until early 2026 on that one.
This seems like a great price though.
Always check CPU-Monkey and NanoReview.net for CPU comparisons. It's not everything but helps. Nanoreview.net look to see if it might have two 2080 NVMe slots or one or maybe different types.
Notebookcheck.net. If they review your actual model, it's a Gold mine of info with a possible picture of it taken apart and you'll see the inside where things go.
I'm confused from where the 1199 original price comes. Website says $749 original price.

Looks like the offer is live again at $650. I got the 10% off coupon and have the $105 CB Amex offer, plus there is a 15% CB today - which will make this about $400 before taxes. Seems like a great deal.
How is the battery life on this? Would it last all day for a college kid?

Edit: Just placed my order.
I am looking for same purpose. Does Amex stack multiple offers for the same purchase? Not sure if kid can use this for 7-8hours without plugging in. AMD might be the one for efficiency.
I have tried hard to find this same exact model in FHD and 15" size. Is it out there?
Note: the 15" inspiron has a side number keypad (that makes the screen more elongated than square)

You can split payments across two Amex cards and get two offers, if both cards' requirements are satisfied.
Dell site says up to 14 hours battery life. I am hoping to see 7-8 hours in real use with normal notes taking and web browsing etc. Will test it once I get the laptop.

Thanks for the info. It doesn't have touch screen. 2-in-1 versions come with touch screen. But they are not on sale. In between, can i use 10% coupon with another account? Are these transferable.

Yes, you can use the 10% off coupon with any account.
I would greatly appreciate feedback from laptop experts. I am very interested in this deal (Item #1). I was going to buy it but I was wondering if the other laptop listings on Dell.com might be better before I pull the trigger on the deal?

I compared the three laptops on Dell.com and the primary difference between them is the processor. So my question is which processor is best? Is it worth $30 more for the Intel® Core™ 7 150U? Or are the other two processors adequate for my needs (see below).
I mainly use my computer for emails, shopping online with multiple tabs open (5 to 8 tabs), and streaming videos online. I use spreadsheets and word documents only sometimes. I would liketo be able to use this laptop without having to upgrade for at least 5 years so I want to make sure the features will be suitable for future advancements in tech. It comes with Windows 11 for home on all 3 laptops.
Please NOTE that I DO NOT do any gaming so I probably won't need super high processing speed but I will use this laptop as my primary streaming for home so good video quality and screen is important to me.
I qualify for the AMEX $105 credit back for over $550 purchase, I also got the 10% off code from Dell.com by signing up as new customer, and I am going to try to get the 15% CB as new customer signup on urlhasbeenblocked.
I'll would probably be spending a total of $400 to $500 (after taxes) depending on which version to buy.

For your needs as a primary streamer, I feel the Inspiron 16 Plus Laptop of this deal thread is the best choice. It has a better screen than the other three you mentioned; all other aspects being similar.

I've used "U" processors years ago, and was always underwhelmed with the speed compared to a decent desktop. The "G" were good enough back when they made them. The "H" is a high-wattage processor line from either Intel or AMD, and I should always be better than a "U" version that's not years newer, at least. This means that typically "H" processors suck up battery life much faster than any other processor, so that could be a drawback for some people.
We have a Ryzen "H" processor laptop that's 1 year old, and an Intel "H" that's 4 years old. The Ryzen runs for many more hours on battery than the Intel ever did. I picked the Ryzen because it was a great price open-box, and it had a bigger battery than my other option at the time. I've since heard that AMD processor laptops with AMD graphics can usually run very efficiently when put in low-power mode. I'll likely get another Ryzen H when I'm ready to replace my own Intel.
Some people have posted about a "Non Plus" Inspiron for $540 that's AMD Ryzen, but I can't seem to find anything for that price, and they didn't mention if it was a Ryzen U or Ryzen H style processor..
