I was about to be all over this, but too many reviews of early failure with no manufacturer support, fires either at the wall/power strip or the unit itself, etc. caused by this thing. One or two I take with a grain of salt, but there are quite a few, including pictures of burned up units, even parts of burned up house. Be sure to check reviews before buying...

Nice - picked on up as "like new" for under $18. I'm going to strip it down anyway and use it to power a heated curing chamber (paint / epoxy) with an external thermostat, so unless it's a problem with the internal element, the robustness of the primary electronics don't matter too much to me.

Pelonis is one of the more reputable brands for oil heaters.

Show me a heater that is 1500W+ and over 10,000 reviews that doesn't have pictures of burned up outlets. You won't find one.

The reason is not everybody's receptacle and electrical wiring are all in good working order.. and people do dumb stuff like connect the heater to a power strip and use more than one high power device per electrical circuit.

Ordered and then decided to cancel. Check latest reviews, most say oil leaks and other issues and to avoid. Sounds like a bad batch and manufacturer won't cover. We had a different one that lasted years and gave it away after moving. Wished we kept it.
