I'm seriously considering this laptop, especially with the Premium Care Plus warranty on sale and having $75 back on my Amex card if I spend $750 (which, after adding the 4-year warranty I wanted and hd retention, I'm just over that amount after coupons are applied).

Anyone have experience with this laptop or other ideapads? I've seen reviews of hinge issues. With my 4-year warranty, I'll be good for at least that long, but I still would rather not have a lot of issues, or have the hinges go out right after warranty expires.

My other concern is from an uneven comparison: I've got a 2022 Lenovo Chromebook right now, and had an older one before. Both of those tend to freeze up easily. Of course this Ideapad has 16gb of ram, and the Chromebook has 4gb. BUT it's running considerably less than I'd have going on my laptop - the chromebook freezes up regularly with only a handful of tabs open. Do these Ideapads freeze up easily as well?

I have a lenovo flex 5 14 ryzen 4500u 16GB ddr4 3200mhz. Never had a problem with it freezing. I still use it today. Only problem, is parasitic battery drain. Leave it about more than a month, battery completely discharged. PD charging is fast, so it is not a problem. It holds charge, but slowly discharged when not in use.

14 inch 2 in 1 is my favorite size. I have 15.6 2 in 1 as well.

If nit pick, screen color could be better, HDMI 1.4b which means 4k at 30hz only. It also has DP 1.4 so I guess it is fine.

Any problem with the hinges? How long have you had it? It's looking pretty good to me, but in searching for reviews, lots of hinge problems on the Ideapads and a few with loud fan problems. I think the hinge is the more frequent complaint, though. And I was looking at this because my normal standby, the Dell Inspiron, has had complaints of very loud fan problems for years - lots of complaints. My current inspiron is almost 5 yrs old and doesn't have that issue, but it's time for an upgrade soon.

Will it survive collage use? Touch screen and pen should help to take notes as well. It serves dual purpose (window laptop and taking notes). No need to buy ipad.
