Likely a mistake on Newegg?? That is odd.

Nope, just an ASUS branding of the OC 4060 with dual fans: https://www.asus.com/us/motherboa...x4060-o8g/

So I read 14400f is bad and is just rebranded 13400f or 12600k from past 2 generations

Any thoughts regarding this deal vs. the equivalent Acer at Newegg vs. the iBuyPower $699 rig at Walmart?

I ordered the iBuyPower rig at Walmart to replace my ancient HP gaming rig after a lightning strike took it out so I have $799 of insurance credit to play with. It looks like the processor in both the Asus and Acer are more powerful than the Ryzen 7 5700 in the iBuyPower machine, and both the Acer and Asus use DDR5 vs DDR4 in the iBuyPower. Would I see any real world advantage in performance or reliability?

If mine had gotten fried like that, I'd be looking for a UPS before considering anything else.

I actually do use a UPS. The strike actually came in through an old Ethernet cable that was used for wireless internet that was no longer hooked up to anything. It arced from the cable to the bottom of my metal desk and literally blew all the cords out from the back of the computer and monitor. The UPS didn't help the computer in this instance. The amount of damage it did to the desk and computer was pretty wild.

On Newegg it says "dual laptop GPU". I think the "laptop" terminology is the typo. Would be goofy if this desktop was using a laptop grade 4060.

The 14th-gen Intel Core i5-14400 is an underwhelming and lackluster refresh of the prior generation, and the minor frequency tweaks don't equate to meaningful performance gains in real-world applications. However, pricing for Ryzen chips and motherboards has improved, making them the better option for builders looking for the best value.

Dang, I've been looking at the ASUS ROG Strix G16CHR the past few days; it's currently marked down to $1,200 at Costco. Seems like the biggest difference is the CPU (i7-14700F) and amount of RAM (32GB). Is it worth paying $350 extra if I'm happy with 1080p30?
