I like this sunscreen but I find it gets REALLY runny in hot environments… I had it in my bag on a hot day and the oils completely separated from the white part, making it a mess to use. Shaking it helps a tiny bit but it never returns to a 'cream' after being in a hot environment. So it's nice to leave at home but I wouldn't recommend traveling with it or keeping it in your car.

This sunscreen works well but it can look and feel totally absorbed by your skin and dry but then leave white marks on everything you touch-and it's really hard to clean off (e.g. leather car seats and arm rests in rental car).

I went down the Reddit rabbit hole on sunscreens and the one I use on my face is from Japan. I have very fair skin and the one they recommended is amazing. It absorbs easily and immediately, and leaves no residue. It's not cheap but then again, neither is cancer (my Irish father had melanoma). I use Biore UV Aqua Rich.

I agree with leaving marks, very hard to clean on leather

What do you recommend that doesn't do that

I love Banana Boat Light As Air! It has a light, pleasant scent, and is non greasy. For folks who have body hair, it doesn't mat down your hair into a grease slick. The non greasy nature of it leaves body hair looking near normal. It's been very effective for me and doesn't leave me with an itchy rash! I highly recommend!

It's a chemical sunscreen, which I like because it leaves no white cast. A lot of the mineral sunscreens leave me greasy and have a strong white cast. I used to try for mineral sunscreens, but after trying Light As Air, I prefer it.

I had a similar experience. I bought this sunscreen new at a store, and it was already oily and separated when I first opened it. My guess is that during shipment or storage, the bottle was left in a hot environment and was thus ruined. I couldn't return it, so I just threw it away. I will never buy this SPF 70 formula again. I have been buying Neutrogena SPF 55 suncreen for many years and never had a problem like this until recently. Not sure what is different about these new ones, but the permanent separation of the oils from the creamy white part is terrible. When I went to a Target store recently they had a lot of unsold SPF 70 tubes, and were almost sold out of SPF 55 tubes. I'm guessing that many other people are experiencing the same problem with this product.

Unfortunately chemical sun screen has its own drawbacks and get absorbed into the blood stream and repeating use can raise to to unsafe level.

Been using this for more than 15 years. They used to have the SPF 100 ones. Works really well except that it will eat through the vinyl/rubber on your steering wheel and arm rest.

Anytime you put something on the skin, it can be absorbed. Mineral sunscreens have a lot of chemicals in them too. In fact, minerals, such as zinc and titanium, in inorganic sunscreens are coated in synthetic chemicals so that they spread more evenly across the skin. Without it, they become clumpy, leaving "holes" of protection in your sunscreen. That's why homemade sunscreens, such as adding zinc to petrolatum to make lip balm with SPF, are ineffective.

According to the FDA:

"...the fact that an ingredient is absorbed through the skin and into the body does not mean that the ingredient is unsafe, nor does the FDA seeking further information indicate such."
