That is a heck of a deal for a very, very good superhero card game.

The Rook City Renegades expansion is on sale for $20 too, more characters and villain that are a lot of fun. Highly recommend that too. https://www.amazon.com/Greater-Th...B0C1F3DD91

Got the base and the rook expansion. Thanks for the tip! It's pretty convoluted between the original/definitive/enhanced editions. A cursory google search says the expansions are not very compatible with other editions, so I'm afraid to get any more beyond those 2 until I know I'm buying the right versions.

Either way this looks like a true slick deal on a highly rated game. I'm excited!!

I'm not a huge fan of super heroes but the game looks interesting enough for the price.

Great deal on definitive edition and rook city, but the other expansions are *not* compatible with DE and need a different core game.

The older version is out of print and unsupported, so stick to Definitive Edition and Rook City unless you know what you're doing.

The better play is to just skip the game and buy Marvel champions instead. It's a better game and they're both similar enough that it's inefficient in owning both. There's no guarantee the definitive version of Sentinels will ever catch up to the original game. It's more likely you'll end up with an unfinished, worse version of an existing game.
Just not even true. Sentinels DE is polished and just as good MC, in many regards even more fun bc it's less expensive and they don't milk you on individual superhero expansions

Less expensive doesn't equal better or more fun. All I'm doing is giving my advice as someone that's played both and doesn't want 100 boxes in my house. I would rather go all in on the best game, then own different versions of the same game (Marvel, Street Masters, Sentinels, etc)

The original Sentinels is way more clunky than the Definitive Edition in this post. That's how I know you've never played the DE that's on sale. If you're gonna make stuff up then please expect to be corrected on Slickdeals, nothing personal.

For $36 (less than the current discounted price on the Marvel Champions core), you get 18 heroes and 15 villains, versus 5 and 3 for MC. You're going to be in for ~$150 before you hit a similar level of content in Marvel. It's debatable which is a better game (many people own and play both), but if you care about value, this Sentinels deal is a screaming bargain.

Reviewers are pretty unanimous that Sentinels DE is better all around than the previous version, and at the rate I get games to the table, I will die before I exhaust the already released content.

It makes sense that MC is a better game for you, but for someone on a budget interested in trying this style of game, it's hard to argue against at least picking up the base set for less than the cost of Ant Man.

Replay value on this game is GREAT! I have almost all the expansions. This was what me and mu buddies started playing after Magic the Gathering turned into "Whoever has the most money will win" kinda game.

Ok I understand you. When I called DE worse then the original, I was comparing both games as a whole. the original + all released expansion content vs just DE and Rook which is incompatible and it's own thing. I was speaking in terms of content and variety and the fact that one game is finished and complete while the other may never be. I didn't intend to say that the original game plays better then Definitive edition, otherwise why would they go through all the effort of starting over remaking the game, I'll edit my post to remove the word worse.

I have the original and the meh art kept it from ever hitting the table. It just sits there collecting dust.
