I use these CONSTANTLY in my apartment(s) each time I move. Of the ~300 I've put up over the years, they've only damaged the wall three times and those I just used some putty from Home Depot (it may have been my fault how I pulled it off the wall - idk)

Same here! Use these for pretty much everything. The trick to pulling them is to pull straight down (or in the direction of the tab), don't pull towards you away from the wall. It sometimes helps to put your other finger on the tab to apply slight pressure to prevent the command strip from tearing away from the wall instead of stretching along it. Tearing away seems to pull paint while stretching along it is how its designed to unstick itself.

My experience is that after couple of years you may have to replace them. It had dried out and a photo frame almost fell on my head.

Same with my experience. Good if you're planning to move in less than 2 years and not want to patch up nail holes.

Used these for 9-10 large framed posters/pictures without a hiccup for about 3 years. Then I had to move. The velcro released properly on every single one. Then I pulled the released tab straight down. Every single one released without damaging the wall. Not kidding, I didn't have one trace of those pictures on the wall.

Needless to say, I used them again in my new house. Been almost a year and we're golden.

Pro tip, you can cut these in half and they still hold pretty good. Obviously you can't do this with big ol heavy wood frames. Sams Club has the best deal on them IMHO.

Is there a product one can buy that is essentially a roll of this or a roll double sided tape that is paint safe? Seems easier and cheaper than buying these and cutting them as needed. Most of the ones I can find seem iffy on being paint safe.

I know that cutting them reduces their weight capacity.

Home depot/lowes will have gorilla tape stuff that works like this.

Good stuff. I have some still holding frames on walls from the start of 2019.

I had to change the seller to Walmart from whatever third-party it defaulted to. Showed up $3.84/pack for me. My Walmart only had 6 available.

Same here. I hung a bunch of pictures with these and a few years later I heard a shattering sound and one of my pictures had fallen. It had just dried out and the adhesive wasn't good anymore. So I decided to just hang them with a simple nail. I'd rather a single small hole that's more stable than something that could fail at any moment. Just my experience.

Same, I've had about 1/3 fail over many years of use (14 years) but this is still the best thing for diamond plaster finish. My advice is to use twice the amount recommended by weight, and I tend to staple gun the ones that go on the picture or frame...

I've found that they work best when "fresh" - within a few weeks of purchasing - otherwise the adhesive becomes brittle and doesn't last as long. I have some that have been up for 3-5 years going strong and some (from the same bulk pack) that I put up less than a year ago that came undone already.

Also, let it cure for 24 hours before putting any weight on it.
