I told myself before that if the 6950xt comes down in the 500s I'll get it, and when it finally did, I waited 3 weeks till they were gone, now I will be telling myself I'll get the 7900xt when it gets to the 500s

Hold, prime day is tomorrow.

Also, the GRE will overclock to just under the XT in performance for nearly $200 cheaper. This makes buying an XT poor value.

The XT would be worth it over the GRE if priced at $599 or less.

At $599 for ngreedia, you'd only get 12gb vram and a shit bit bus.

AMD is the only price to performance right now imo.

According to government calculated inflation statistics, $300 in 2010 money is worth about $460 in today's money

According to other inflation calculations which don't cherrypick the data like the government does, $300 in 2010 money is equivalent to about $1000 in today's money.

So yeah the $300 sweet spot is now $500-$1000 depending who you believe.
