This is my first real smart watch. I wanted it for notifications and health monitoring. Once I found out that the health sensors and features were disabled in the U.S. and/or if you have a non-samsung phone, I almost returned the watch. I definitely think they should be more upfront about disabled features and capabilities in the U.S.
Once I found out that it had tap to pay, I was sold! I love not having to dig my phone or wallet out to pay for things and don't want to go back to the old way.
The battery life is fantastic. I have enabled the screen to stay on all day, and the battery still lasts 2 days. It is very convenient to glance at it for the time without have to twist my wrist or tap on the screen.
I recommend.

Watch 6 Classic looks like a more formal watch for events/hanging out (way nicer looking). Watch 5 Pro and Watch 7 Ultra are for more intense use.
But I am trading mine in on the new 7 for $40 out of pocket.
Look for more refurbs, assuming Samsung resells them.

Personally, I try to recharge when it hits 45% and stop charging before it hits 85%. Unfortunately, Wear OS doesn't have a "Battery protection" setting to limit the maximum charge to 80% (Samsung One UI for phones does this), so you have to micro manage it.
So despite the 2-3 day battery capacity of the Watch 5 Pro, I end up charging about once a day anyway. I don't use Always on Display.
