There is only one review for this product in lenovo website and that review complains about the fan noise
That is my review. I wasn't going to write anything but Lenovo kept bugging me with emails about it. I am pretty happy with the Intel version since the fan noise is less annoying. I didn't wanna spend time trying a replacement so I went with a different model with two fans and newer design.

I view the Lenovo (and most computer manufacturers) list prices the same way I view Kohls list prices - they are pipe dreams that were never intended to actually be sold at (but they will gladly do it when they can), but instead provides for a "BIG DISCOUNT" to entice people to think they are getting amazing deals.
List prices are usually meant for business clients.

PSA this is 3.5lbs not what it says as advertised. Return initiated. I think I'm going to go for a 13" for a bit more portability

I also think it allows them to sell these at such prices to large enterprises and government. And you guys wonder why it's expensive for government to build something.

Funny, I am sitting here typing on a new HP 13.5 g4 Dragonfly I got at Costco on clearance for similar price. I have the Lenovo on order and I am going to definitely return one, assuming Id be keeping the Lenovo

The Dragonfly weighs more than advertised too. I think its just under 4lbs but dont remember exact numbers. It has given me headaches too though
"some" are not necessarily HP related, some are

My Len has been stuck in customs , should have arrived 3 days ago

How easy is return? Do they charge restocking fee? Return shipping cost?

Can you swap out the 52.5whr battery for something higher capacity? Comparable laptops have 70whr+ batteries in order to achieve macbook like battery life.

Interesting question particularly if you're desperate for more capacity, or eventually if the included one gets to EOL and one wants to upgrade.

The two possible problems I hypothesize about are (a) if it's even possible to find a bigger capacity one that fits in the space and is electrically / SW compatible, and (b) whether the change to the battery SW interface / model number / capacity etc. would "confuse" or "break" the software / firmware aspects of the laptop and charging management / monitoring stuff from working if it was never programmed to deal with any other model / size battery.

AFAICT this laptop isn't renowned for its battery life but is intended to maximize the burst performance of interactive applications assuming the user will mostly be using it connected to external power or only for a few hours on battery power.

The easiest achievable battery life extension would theoretically be running it in "low power mode" and optimizing it for using slower speeds, more aggressive energy conservation, etc.

Given the thermal throttling / fan cooling necessity and power limit that kicks in pretty readily I question whether the "high performance" power limit boost etc. of this model is really that compelling / effective without a better cooling arrangement other than reducing little bursts of lag here and there so personally I'd mostly like to just limit the performance / clock rates / whatever to like 60% of maximum and that'd probably be fine and cooler / quieter and make the battery last longer than otherwise.

You can, reportedly, IIRC attach external USB-C-PD power packs (e.g. batteries) to this device to "charge it" at the cost of having an external battery taking cost and space and maintenance to prolong the runtime on battery, though.

Two completely different beasts, Thinkpad = business quality, Pavillion = consumer

16 in and 14 in are not in the same category

It does have a touchscreen so HP has that advantage

Does not have ethernet, nor the potential to add a wwan card/sim slot

Other than similar ram (I think HP is soldered) and HD sizes , I think these are very different. Though I like the looks of it, the color

Thats a better deal I believe because the OLED and the extra ram are worth the very slight increase in price, think processor is different though, think its gen older

Is there a camera privacy shutter on this ?

Edit: I figured it out, there is a physical slider . The lever is above the camera on the lid. Hard to notice. Wish they had a closeup pic in the manual

My HP has a keyboard button which is much sleeker

Battery life is insane! I fully charged mine at around 10am, it is 7:20pm and still have 35% of battery life, with regular use web browsing and some audio and video editing.

Note: Mine is upgraded to Hynix Platinum p41 2tb storage, I also use Process Lasso set to Balanced: Better Battery-Life Overlay (probably unnecessary but still want to bring to your attention)
Do you have the same model and specs as this deal?
