This is the Costco version of the Sony A80L (hence the "C" in A80CL). It's been $2000 everywhere since June. Just ordered for $1587 with tax

smoking hot deal
last time it was marked down to 1699
now sony has this for 1999 while costco has this for 1499 plus 5 yr warranty
the new model bravia 8 is 2299, 800 more, with very close rtings score (although new model is 10% brighter and has a better chip, a80 will offer the same experience at least 95% of the time, if not more)

You do you, but you're not going to get a 65" OLED TV, especially from a premium brand like Sony, for less than $1K, unless it's an open box or refurbished. Even the Sony A8H, which is the 2020 model, is still selling for $1500 new on ebay.
The TV makers and electronics retailers will discount things to clear out last year's inventory, but they're not going to give it away for a loss.

Not true. Got 65 inch A80J @ Costco NIB for $799.97 w/5year warranty a couple of years ago. Takes a little luck and alot of patience.

Retailers and other businesses sell items and services at a loss all the time for a variety of reasons (new business promotions, price mistakes, clearing out shelf space, etc.). When it comes to items (even big ticket items such as TV's, appliances and cars), they get sold at a loss to clear space for new items/models. If Costco sold 19 TV's out of 20 and they have 1 leftover that they need to sell before restocking the shelf they will lower the price incrementally until it sells even if it is at a loss. In most cases those TVs will sell before it gets to the price point I am looking at, but not always. For example, I purchased a new 2020 Chevrolet Bolt Premier about 3 years ago for $21K when the MSRP was over $44K. It was sold at a huge loss to Chevrolet. I have purchased $1,200 PC's from Walmart for under $500. They were definitely sold at a loss. These are definitely huge YMMV deals and I not saying they are available all the time, but if you are patient and willing to consider multiple options you an score a great deal. I wasn't even looking at an EV, but I got the SD notification about promos on the Bolt and I ended up finding such a steal that I bought it. It just depends on circumstances.

I'll never buy a Sony tv again really at any price. Putting 1 true full speed hdmi port is brutally insane. Having to use HDMI switches introduces so many problems.

Sony has got to stop putting hdmi 2.0 ports on OLED tvs.

I am missing some understanding from your post. Aren't all 4 inputs into this tv hdmi 2.1? Can you explain further?
Thank you

After reading the detailed pdf specs I see 120Hz is only on hdmi input 3 and 4. I'm guessing that's what you mean by full speed.
