Intel 13th and 14th gen is showing signs of degradation no matter the motherboard settings. Several YouTubers are investigating the problem. Its even in the data centers for i9 and i7. Gamers nexus and level 1 techs have videos on it trying to get to the bottom of it. But all eyes pointing to Intel and poor manufacturing processes

Only the i9's are problematic not the rest of the lineup, and its not a widespread issue. Hence why its been 2 years since the 13900k came out and yet only now there are some concerns under certain workloads, and many people have reported that updating their BIOS to the latest microcode has solved the issues.

Not quite, looks to me it has gotten to the point consumers are better to be careful now. It never hurts to hold back for a while if you have not bought one.

The scary part is that it looks increasingly probable the issue could be progressive degradation, not a bug or something. Then it's possible highest SKUs hit this issue earlier given Intel pushed to the limit hardest with them to get the most juice out of re-branded 12th gen. Those "fixes" can very well be workarounds, but you will be left with a nerfed CPU.

i7 are also having the problem as well, just not as frequently as the i9. Seems like both of the top end CPUs are degrading in the 13th and 14th gen. I'd avoid the 13th and 14th gen top end entirely. They had the 12700k on sale for $190, which has no issues. I'd stick with 12th gen or i5 of 13th and 14th.

can confirm, I've got an i7-13700k with the same symptoms. I haven't been able to use that CPU since October.

I bought an i9-13900k to replace it, but it had arrived just when this issue started really showing up in the news, so I haven't opened it yet.

Yes, still the best bang for the buck if you can find i7 12700k around $150

I know too late, but $100 less for 12th gen a week ago )gone now) was the best deal.

I tried doing a bit of research into this issue before purchasing a computer recently. My conclusion was that the issue only seems to affect the 'K' models of these chips and not the regular ones. That could be why there are conflicting accounts of how widespread the problem is.

(Someone please correct me if I made a wrong conclusion... I am in no way claiming to be an expert)

The i7's are also suffering from the same cores disabling issues

Ryzen 7 or 9 is the best replacement if you like performance IMO.
