It isn't an AMOLED display....and I've never seen the "trans reflexive" technology displays (or whatever it's called)....is it totally clear?

It's very clear and easy to read. In bright conditions it's arguably easier to read then OLED, but I've never had any issues seeing my Epix even in July above the treeline with snow. There's videos on Youtube that demonstrate the difference. The biggest differences, IMO, are that colors are very subdued on MIPS and when it's dark you get the whole display backlit rather than just crisp text lit up on OLED.

Even after years of having both I still struggle with which screen I'd prefer.

The AMOLED certainly looks nice, but the trans-reflexive works great, especially outdoors. I don't need my watch to be uber-resolution. I have zero issues with the Endruo's screen as-is for my use case.
