Still overpriced IMO
Should be no more than $2K street price....or give you at least one Dirac license and the adequate calibration mic at no charge

Overpriced or not, there aren't many 13 channel receivers that can play ball at this price range!

Sonics are what are important to me...additionally I dont think over 9 channels in a home theater environment adds much..if anything

You can do the equivalent of this, sonically, for less

Is there a reason why you keep parroting what "you want" vs listening to the "voice of the customer"? Somewhere out there, there's a handful of customers where this receiver will do the job!

LOL....I really doubt there is a long line waiting for this AVR...There are sonically equal units for less and at MSRP sonically better options

What voice of the customer are you talking about?
People make comments about products here all the time.....

But anyway
To your point ..to each their own

Which units would you buy for $2500 or less?

In this range Onkyo RZ70 all day long

If you are in a smaller / less demanding situation RZ50( for $799) all day long( or even the 7100 if its still available for like $599)

IMO, more speakers/channels does not equate to better sonics

Musically, if you like 2 channel un corrected listening, I think they will all sound the same

So what you are buying is room correction and the specs needed for your specific environment

To my ears Dirac outperforms Audyssey handily
I have an RZ50 set up in a smaller area in my home office running a 5.1 system and I am amazed at how much better it is than a Marantz 7015, I also own.
The Onkyo RZ50 was half the price of the Marantz 7015

Does Onkyo still have a reliability problem? I've been reading for years reports of them failing.

The people in the forums that have owned them for 3 years now( Rz50 and 7100) seem to be fine and they seem very satisfied.
The RZ70 has only been out a short while so not much history on that unit from owner's yet

My personal ownership has seen all the Asian brands have issues...My current Marantz 7015 was sent in for repair and it came back still broken from the repair center.
Denon/Marantz replaced the entire unit under warranty

Amazon is scammy with this… they just raised the price in my cart before i checked out. It's now showing as $2,625 now and a third party seller is cheaper at $2399. I called Denon and they verified "electronics expo" IS authorized and eligible for full denon warranty.

Also appears that the buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping on returns. I would love to be corrected on this though.

He does have a point.

You keep comparing this to the 6800 & A1H per "benchmarks", which isn't the same as "sonically".
TBH apples n oranges comparison since this is only capable of processing 11 channels, other two are 13 & 17 respectively.

Then you say the RZ50 is great, I'm guessing you mean "sonically" since it's "benchmark" was concluded as:

"The amplifier has serious power limiting "feature" and even without it, it is not competitive with other products out there"!

If YOU only need 9 channels why are bothering with this AVR!?
As you just pointed out much better options, even with bad benchmark results! ?
