They are completely different products with different uses. Originally Voltaren was oral and there were lots of side effects and therefore was prescription only, the topical was prescription only for the longest time and with decreased side effects it did become over-the-counter. I was genuinely surprised that I started seeing the tubes on costco shelves. Long story short
Voltaren = is not designed for acute but it was for ongoing chronic pain usually caused by arthritis ( CHRONIC ARTHRITIS)
Icy hot, Biofreeze, tiger balm, cryoderm, .... and many others = temporary "pain relief" - it's more of a placebo effect in my honest opinion
Germany made Traumeel before circa 2010 was really good. I don't know what happened but efficacy wasn't as good nowadays (I think the company got bought out and the formula changed or something)
Personally, I would use cryoderm and or traumeel. Some CBD products are hit or miss. When you have to rely on these constantly, you should seek out some help. Diet and exercise actually make a difference in most cases, but unfortunately, too many people are lazy and want quick /easy fixes.. and usually quick and easy makes you get pain / symptoms come back quickly and easily
