The only meaningful downside to this laptop is it's cpu. The r7 7735hs is not a current gen zen 4 cpu. Instead it uses the last gen (soon to be two generations old) zen 3+ architecture, being a modest upgrade in performance to the previous gen r7 6800h while supporting only a couple newer features such as ddr5 (only up to ddr5 4800) and usb4. It has the last gen rdna2 radeon 680m igpu, which is significantly inferior to the current gen rdna3 radeon 780m igpu.
If your primary use cases involve cpu dependent productivity workloads, the functionally last gen cpu may be a serious detriment. That being said, when it comes to gaming performance at 1600p resolution with a mobile rtx 4070, you'll essentially always be gpu bottlenecked. Excluding a few specific games, you'll generally get fairly similar gaming performance compared to a laptop with a rtx 4070 paired with an equivalent zen 4 mobile cpu such as the 7840hs.
