Waiting for someone to provide a review on this in the comments

I have recently bought a G14 for 1099$ I like that one, but it gets quite hot even when I just browse the web.

Is this a better choice over that? Can still return that one.

Someone please help

Really depends on if you play games a lot. The G14 you're talking about I'm pretty sure has a 4060 which is way better than a 3050

Yes, it has 4060, and I do play games, but recently, I have not gotten time to play games. My concern is only portability and battery life and a little gaming every now and then, and I only play apex legends

Neither of these computers particularly excels in battery life or portability considering the weight. Really it's up to you. The G14 as a whole is a better deal imo due to its better screen and much better gpu etc but sounds like you have other priorities.

With a resolution of 2560 x 1600, how small is the text going to be on this?

It all depends upon what the scaling setting you are using.

G14 is still better. If you're not gaming, you can reduce the heat generation by a lot by setting the CPU and GPU Power limit to a lower value, say 40W for the CPU and 50-60W for the GPU. Alternatively, run the laptop in balanced mode. And even with that kind of lower power limit, it will still best the Yoga pro 7.

Looking to me like this is a great option for my girlfriend, she's looking to learn digital art and I really like this form factor. I was going to grab the other Yoga 7i but people were complaining about the screen... any reasons not to pull the trigger on this?

She would use it for light Photoshop/Krita and maybe really basic video editing while we travel for 4 months so i want something light with decent battery.
